That was a long damn time ago.
I've got no excuses for it except a combination of lazy and too much going on in my life. Also exhaustion. Complete and utter exhaustion.
So I decided I needed to throw some words up on this page, so that folks that read stuff and don't follow me on Twitter or aren't friends with me on Facebook will know I'm still alive and didn't just fall into a crack in the space/time continuum and end up on another planet or in a parallel universe. Because that can happen, right?
I'll catch you up with what has been going on since March.
I've received a crap ton of literary poetry rejections on the one hand, but on the other I'm waiting for some news about six poems submitted to a speculative fiction poetry contest. And this summer I had a science fiction poem published in The Science Fiction Poetry Association's Star*Line magazine called "poem in the shape of a starship." The cover is shown on the home page here, which is sort of the page where I brag about recent publications.
I've been working my ass off with my multiple jobs: Traffic Co-ordinator for Public Broadcasting Services and Computer Lab Assistant/Writing Tutor for the local community college. Also dog-sitting. And looking into doing some freelance editing and proofreading. How many jobs you got?
Add to the list of things I'm busting my ass doing: Studying to take the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) and filling out graduate school applications to try and get into graduate school for my MFA in Creative Writing. Big on my list of schools is Florida State because of their graduate certificate in Publishing and Editing. Yeah, I might be good at that. ;)
I'm working on reading slush pile poetry for the next issue of The Were-Traveler. And writing my creative piece for graduate school (which is probably the weirdest shit I've ever written, and THAT's saying something).
That's all that's new with me. Writing and working, working and writing, and in between trying to enjoy the new D. Gray Man series. Life sucks without anime.
I'm looking to get news on that contest soon. If it's good news, I'll post something on here about it. If it's bad news, you'll find me drowning my sorrows in a bottle of Strongbow Gold Apple and cheering myself up with nonstop cat videos on YouTube and Facebook.
Cheers~
